Attendance
It is important for your student's success that they are present at school. Every day matters.
However, we understand that life happens. If your student is unable to attend school for any reason (even remote students) please contact our office as soon as possible to advise us of the absence. Our contact information can be found on the right hand side of this page.
Every day at 9am parents/guardians of students who are absent will receive a call advising them that their student is absent. Students who have been excused will not receive a call. Please call us by 8:45am to inform the school of your student's absence.
Documentation of the absence (i.e., a doctor's note) should be turned into the office when the student returns to school.
Pre-Arranged Absences
If your student will be absent for more than 2 days, a pre-arranged absence form must be completed at least 1 week prior to the absence. The form is available in the office.
Once the form has been submitted we will process the form. Our administrative team will review the request. Once the request has been approved we will obtain homework for the days of absence from the student's teacher.
Chronically Absent Students
District policy on attendance defines chronic absenteeism as:
-
- 4 or more unexcused absences in a month
- missing 10% or more of scheduled school days, excused and unexcused
If your student is chronically absent we will send home notification via a letter.
We are dedicated to ensuring our student's educational success and consistent attendance is key to this success.
