A notice for parents was issued and posted last year from 8/16/11 to 5/24/12 asking that large side pocket pants not be purchased as uniform pants and parents where referred to our web site for an approved list of vendors. There continues to be confusion on what are acceptable uniform pants and questions on what are cargo pants and what is our definition of excessively large side pockets as stated in the BCCS Parent/Student Handbook. Due to the confusion and the time this takes away from First Comes Learning, a decision has been made not to have any side pockets on the legs of uniform pants. Some parents have already purchased uniform pants with side pockets, and if that is the case, students may wear the pants until Winter Break if side pockets are sewn closed. As of January 8th, 2013, uniform pants with side leg pockets of any type or size will no longer be acceptable. If a student comes to school after January 8th with side leg pockets on their uniform pants, it will be deemed a dress code violation and appropriate disciple action will be taken.
