There are several ways to create a digital portfolio, I find the easiest is to upload pix from my phone or Ipad into google drive, then create a slideshow and attach in google classroom. Chromebooks also have a camera feature.

There is an untitled slideshow attached which you can click on and add photos with drag and drop. You will be adding new slides to this portfolio from this point on, to create a collection of work which will include all projects for the year. Your portfolio will be your final exam and must include all work submissions for the year . We will have an all school Virtual Art show and you need all art from the year for seletion.

Portfolios must be entered into Google classroom and turned in here. Email submissions will not be accepted.

Watch the video and if you can make the wearable art project with items in your home, If you cannot write a page answering the discussion questions.

Sketch your own Statue of Liberty, answer the discussion questions
12/11-Section 4 Modernist Heart
Answer the discussion questions abt murals. Go on a mural walk in your neighborhood. Find a mural you like and copy it. or search the web for mural ideas. Find one that speaks to you and reproduce it on paper, or come up with your own.
12/15 Section5/6 Spectacular Life/Marvelous Real
Answer the questions, sketch the vogue cover as described. If you have the supplies at home make the impressionist box. Watch the modernist video and respond to questions.

Watch the movie FRIDA with Selma Hayek with your guardians. It is a good dramatic portrayal of her crazy and amazing life. She was stuck in her home too and it gave her the opportunity to be amazingly creative!!

This week we will do a 2 part project creating city and country landscapes on a rainbow field of color gradients. I would like you to create 2 paintings one verticle one horizontal that span Rainbow colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Violet. And the second starting from violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, violet, yellow, green, blue, violet. Both are shown in video and you can choose the direction of each

Welcome back artists.
Here we are in the throws of a pandemic, trying hard to regain normalcy where there is none. As an artist I myself as well as many of my fellow artists have been presented with a new creative outlet in which we are trying to make sense of the world through art.

Most of you are familiar with selfies....the modern day quickie version of the self portrait. We will briefly explore the history of why artists have used this form of expression for years and then combine it with our current situation.....

To further this thought we are going to create from the viewpoint of utopian and dystopian society. Watch the video to further understand what these ideas mean to you.
for today I simply want you to come up with any and all ideas of what you think a dystopian (non perfect) society looks like as well as what you would like a Utopian (perfect society) to look like. it is from there that we will create our self portraits.

As most of you have been through the basics of self portrait before, I challenge you to come up with an idea of your own. I am also including a link to the Westword article on Denver artist Adrienne DeLoe's "Pandemic Self Portraits" for inspiration. If possible join the public group with the same name on fb to see more pix.

next class we will begin our project work. for this week I want you to just brainstorm ideas.
