Reader's Letter - May

Remember that this is supposed to encompass an entire month's (or so) worth of reading. So, it's hard to give a minimum length but I feel 3/4 of a page should be okay. Please look into my post - "How to Talk About Books."

Due:

Personal Narrative/Memoir - FINAL DRAFT in Google Classroom

Personal Narrative/Memoir - FINAL DRAFT

This is where you will turn in the final draft. The rubric I will be using to grade your work is attached. I'm always happy to look over your writing but just don't come to me a few hours before it's due!

Question Bookmarks - The Cask of Amontillado

We're going to read this short story in two halves. Complete one of the question bookmarks for each half.

Due:

The Tell Tale Heart - Question Bookmarks in Google Classroom

The Tell Tale Heart - Question Bookmarks

These "bookmarks" will help us be a bit more involved with our reading. This is a place where the questions that run through your mind as you're reading will be recorded. I'll be doing my own example in class and attach my example.

Due:

Encyclopedia of a _________ Life in Google Classroom

Encyclopedia of a _________ Life

This assignment is intended to get you started on reflecting on your life and to use writing for self-expression. I've mentioned that we want to try to cover as many letters as possible in this encyclopedia about you. I would like A MINIMUM OF 26 ENTRIES, so if you can't get one for a few letters just make sure you have extra entries for other letters. Another part of the grade is spelling, punctuation, and grammar. It doesn't have to be perfect but I would like for you to read through your writing and try to find the sentences that just sound "weird."

I am adding my draft which shows the format that I would like for you to follow if you're turning in a google doc. EXTRA CREDIT is available through making a creative final product of this assignment (i.e. Small book made out of construction paper or a Google Slides presentation).
