This week we will do a 2 part project creating city and country landscapes on a rainbow field of color gradients. I would like you to create 2 paintings one verticle one horizontal that span Rainbow colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, Violet. And the second starting from violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, violet, yellow, green, blue, violet. Both are shown in video and you can choose the direction of each
For part one you’ll need
White construction paper
Watercolors & brushes
We will begin by doing 2 paintings that use a rainbow gradient. One on the vertical, one on the horizontal.
at one side of paper start by creating a stripe of red, blend it into orange, blend orange into yellow, into green, into blue, into violet. Blend until the whole page is a field of color.
On the second page start in the center with a stripe of red then blend out to orange on both sides, yellow in both sides after that, green blue violet so it is a mirror image rainbow.

Hello Artists! Welcome back.
We begin our art year with a return to self portrait. Why? because this is one of the most reflective things we can do as an artist with our art, to know ourselves. we will begin with a review of the basics of our drawing, then I will turn it over to you to create a character of yourself, of any style of your choice. What would you like to do? Who would you like to be?
Create your own character or use one you already know from a book or movie character.
I am including a video for this week on why artists do self portraits as well as a slide show with some fun examples!
